The Engineers League is now starting our 60th season.  We have been curling at VCC since the fall of 2015 when curling ceased at the North Shore Winter Club. It offers both competitiveness and a social atmosphere.
This years season will start on Saturday, September 22, 2018
The season we are close to confirming 16 teams.  The first game will be a 2 hour regular round robin game, with a skills competition in which 16 fresh apple pies are awarded to the best teams, and individual scores.
We will have a turkey shoot in December with frozen turkeys as prizes, and a closing party where fine wines are awarded to each and every team.

  • At present the league are close to expanding to 16 teams.
  • We’re the only league at VCC that still curls the originally traditional full 10 ends. All other leagues curl 8 ends, or less.
  • Our league has been continuously on-going for what is now our 60th year.
  • Membership in the league gives you a priority option to participate in the usually sold-out Professional Engineer’ Bonspiel which is held during the last weekend in January. This bonspiel has been going for 47 years.
  • There is a good balance between competitiveness and social. In other words we have a lot of fun but at the same time we are out to win.
  • The charge for curling is in the range of $1320 for a team or $330 per person for a 19-game season. This fee includes:
  1. curling charges to the VCC
  2. an opening skills competition where fresh apple pies are awarded to the best team and individuals
  3. a turkey shoot in late December where real turkeys (not gift certificates) are awarded to the scores
  4. a 15-game round robin of play followed by a four-game playoff
  5. closing ceremonies at the end of the season where fine wines are awarded as prizes. (All teams get some wine)
  6. we do not have any 50/50 draws or anything like that to finance league activities. Your fee includes everything.
  • A person simply cannot go wrong by joining our league. It is the best possible league to curl in.
  • The 8:30 starting time on Saturday morning has the benefit of getting you going for the weekend.
  • Parking at the curling rink on Saturday mornings is not an issue, in comparison to curling on a weekday evening when parking is at a premium.
  • If you join our league, we will guarantee you a good time and you will meet a lot of new friends.
  • We now have a full 16 team roster, but we are still looking for spares or individuals who wish to commit to be a fifth and curl part time.
