The Novice League runs Sunday and Monday evenings, September 22/23 thru April 6/7 for a total of 23 weeks. There are three weeks of instruction, covering the basics of delivery, sweeping, strategy, rules and ettiquette. The third week will have an exhibition game, so everyone can get comfortable out on the ice. Following the instruction, the season runs for 17 weeks. Points are awarded for wins, losses and ties. A three-week playoff will wrap up the season to determine the League Champion, and its representative in the VCC Championships at the end of April!
Click here to Register as a team or as an individual. Teams can register up to five (5) people. Curling teams operate with four players any given week (it's up to the team to decide who plays each week). Groups with less than four members are grouped with other registrants to ensure a team of four players. There is space for 16 teams and the VCC also maintains a waiting list to fill any gaps which may arise and for those looking to pick up games via the spare list once the season is underway.
Costs for the league are $195.24 + GST per person. An additional $66.50 is charged to each player for our Membership and Capital Development Fund costs. Membership gives you access to Open Ice for practice when it is available and discounts in the Pro Shop, as well as on our clinics, lessons and pick-up leagues offered through the season.
