Now that we have completed our move to our new facility, the VCC is looking to expand our team to service our expected 1,000 members in our larger home at the former Olympic/Paralympic curling facility.

With this change comes our ability to provide a state-of-the-art curling facility with eight full-sized curling sheets of ice, a 200+ seating capacity bar and lounge, and the ability to rent out our facility all year long.

The VCC is a not-for-profit sporting organization with an extremely active annual schedule and a curling seasons that operates daily from mid-September to mid-May.

At this point in time, we are not looking for any additional staff.

Executive Director

The Vancouver Curling Club, a member-focused nonprofit association and home to a world-class eight-sheet curling facility with off-season potential, is seeking an Executive Director. The Executive Director, reporting to the Board of Directors, will be responsible for operational planning, administration, financial management, marketing and sales, sponsorship development and measuring results against goals.

Junior Ice Technician (2)

The VCC is currently seeking two Junior Ice Technicians for regular shifts to start immediately and continue until mid-May 2012.

Reporting to the Ice Shed Manager, the Junior Ice Technicians will be responsible to assist in maintaining competitive-quality curling ice, complete janitorial work, and support the Club's lounge staff.

A Level 1 Ice Technician certificate is preferred, or we will train.

Bar Servers (3)

The VCC is currently seeking three part-time Bar Servers for regular shifts from mid-September 2011 until the end of April 2012.

Reporting to the Manager of Membership Services, the Bar Servers will be responsible to tend the bar, prepare basic meals, clean tables and maintain a key focus on membership satisfaction.

Bartending experience and Serving It Right are required. Some cooking experience and Food Safe are assets but not required. We pay competitive wages and tips.

Bookkeeper

The VCC is currently seeking an experienced Bookkeeper on a contract basis (approximately 6 - 8 hours per week) to start immediately.

With the support of the Association's General Manager, the Bookkeeper's duties will include, but not limited to, maintaining the general ledger, A/R, A/P, posting of journal entries, monthly account reconciliations, banking, invoicing, preparing reports for the Finance Committee and Board of Directors and payroll for approximately 10 employees on a semi-monthly basis.

Applicants should possess 5+ years experience in full cycle bookkeeping, proficiency with Quickbooks and Excel, ability to prioritize, multitask and handle pressure in order to meet deadlines and excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.

Assistant Ice Technician

The VCC is currently seeking an experienced Assistance Ice Technician on a full-time term agreement to start immediately and work until mid-May 2012.

Reporting to the Ice Shed Manager, the Assistant Ice Technician will share responsibilities for efficient maintenance of an excellent ice surface, assist with ice making and removal, supervise janitorial work to ensure that the building remains spotless, and work with volunteers during the curling season.

Daily ice maintenance is to meet Canadian Curling Association competitive curling standards. Minimum requirement of a Level 1 Ice Technician certification is required; Level 2 is preferred.
